Nice and smart; that is Mme mariama Salifou. She is a 51 year old woman who is from Niger. She is a Nigerien that is tall with black hair, dark eyes, and a beautiful voice. She is very intelligent and a very nice person to know.

Mariama was born in 1954 in a small village named Goudel. Her mother died soon after she was born and she was given to missionaries to be raised. Fortunately, she kept in contact with her Nigerien family. Mariama was able to go to the Moumouni Dioffo University in Niamey. She then went to do part of her education in Illinois, that is where she got her masters degree. She also went to Leeds, England for her post-graduate studies in education. Though she likes teaching, her dream was to become a medical doctor but at the time the university thought she would be a better teacher and put her into education classes.

She is not married, but has one adopted daughter who is her niece. She lives in a nice house at Quartier Lacrousou in Niamey. Mariama is a teacher at our school, the American International School of Niamey. She likes teaching here. Every day she helps teach the high school students and also teaches French. She teaches one of the students social studies and literature.

Mariama prefers ocean life. She likes being near water and eating the different foods from the coastal areas. One of her favorite meals is okra sauce. She is content living here in Niger, but misses traveling.

I picked her because she is one of my favorite teachers. Mme Mariama Salifou is nice and cares about students? futures and tries to help them out. I think she represents Niger is a positive way because of her education and background.
