For the 100 people project, our grade 7 class chose to make paintings from photographs. We each chose a Chinese person who we know and helps in the community. Our Chinese candidate is Ah Fong. She was born in Hainan 40 years ago and now works as a maid and is married. She lives in an apartment with her husband and children. The interesting thing is that she doesn’t have a religion. She has two children that she saves the money for from what she earns from her job. She eats rice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The number one thing that worries her is that she might lose her job. Her favorite time of the year is Chinese New Year. In her free time, she watches T.V. We learned a lot of new things about Ah Fong that we never knew before, including the fact that she has no religion. I thought that everyone has at least one religion they believed in.
