With the looks of a normal Japanese grandfather, this man Kikuo Matsumoto has done something that the people from all over the world wanted to do. “Serve their country.”

As one of the spies of the army, he went into the enemy territory spying on the enemies every move. Kikuo was told from the leaders of his army that this mission was one that was surely to doe in. He had two choices that he could have made.. One was to get in the enemies territory, get the information and do what the army told him to do. Or second he could just deny and not be on the army. But Kikuo had to accept. That was because he was actually a man with extremely poor eye sight. He needed glasses at the age of 13. His dream when he was young was to be in the army and serve for the people. When he tried out to be in the army, he got a call saying “you are not accepted we are sorry,” and when he asked why it was because of the eye sight. Kikuo had to think of a way to get into the army. So to show the desperateness, he used a knife cut his finger and wrote a one page paragraph with blood explaining how much he wanted to be on the army. The army was stunned when they got this and they had to accept Kikuo. The bravery that he gave me while telling me the story was amazing. I could not believe at what he was telling me. Kikuo had the talent, the disadvantage and he had the heart to be a true soldier.

Now he is a normal grandfather, taking care of one kid and a couple of grandsons. He is never shy to talk about his bravery and his hear.
